By-Laws were drafted and the Club's mission established; to provide a variety of equine related activities for families and individuals of all ages and skill levels.
The traditions are still going strong and are enjoyed by over 100 members. One of the traditions, which started as a fund raiser for the club, is the Bit & Spur 4th of July Rodeo. The 2012 Bit & Spur year promises to be better than ever as we continue our team penning, organized clinics and jackpots as well as scheduled and organized practice of the traditional show events such as barrels, poles, keyhole and relay events like the potato race and water race. In keeping with Club traditions, members participate in a variety of activities; Club shows, team penning, trail rides, dinner meetings, and dances. The Bit & Spur Club has for years contributed to the local community; The Club supports the Tooele High School Rodeo Association and provides donations to several local charity organizations.
The Bit & Spur is one of seven clubs, comprising District One, in association with the Utah Western Riding Clubs of America (USWRCA). Members of all ages participate in USWRCA sponsored horse shows. More information can be found at www.uswrca.com including rules and descriptions of show events
